FAQs
Do I need to be present for delivery?
Not necessarily, but it’s recommended to ensure the dumpster is placed in the desired location.
What happens to the materials I dispose of in the roll-off dumpster?
We’re committed to responsible waste management. We partner with local recycling facilities to divert as much material as possible from landfills. For non-recyclable waste, we ensure proper disposal through licensed facilities that prioritize environmental standards.
What kind of junk, debris, trash, and material can I put in dumpsters?
Common throwaway items include roofing, concrete, bricks, lath/plaster, tile, carpet, sheetrock, wood decks/boards/siding, household furnishings, landscaping debris, and personal belongings. We can provide a detailed list of prohibited items such as hazardous materials, electronics, and medical waste.
What items are prohibited from going into dumpsters?
You cannot use dumpsters to dispose of electronics, batteries, microwaves, motor oil, gasoline, unused paint, computers, tires, medical waste, household chemicals, hot water tanks, propane tanks, or freon-based appliances.
How much can a 40-yard dumpster hold?
It holds 40 cubic yards of waste. To visualize that, it is roughly equivalent to:
- 12 to 16 pickup truck beds completely filled.
- 230 to 250 heavy-duty (33-gallon) trash bags.
- The debris from a major whole-home remodel or a large commercial roofing tear-off.
What projects are best suited for a 40-yard dumpster?
This is our largest standard size, ideal for:
- Complete commercial building or residential demolition.
- Major commercial construction or large-scale roofing projects.
- Extensive tree removal or large-scale community landscaping projects.
What is the weight limit for a 40-yard dumpster?
Our 40-yard rental packages typically include a weight allowance of 4 to 6 tons (8,000 to 12,000 pounds). The physical container can legally haul up to 10 tons (20,000 pounds) depending on local road legalities, but going over your package's included weight limit will result in pro-rated prorated landfill tipping fees per ton.
How much space do I need for delivery?
You need a clear, straight drive-path of at least 60 feet for the truck to back in and drop the container. You also need at least 23 to 25 feet of vertical clearance to allow the truck's hoist to raise and slide the dumpster off without hitting tree branches or power lines.
How long can I keep the dumpster?
If your project runs ahead of schedule, just call us for an early pickup. If you need it longer, you can easily extend your rental for a flat daily fee.
